Do you need an ATX B550 board that doesn't take up much room with flashy unneeded heatsinks? Do you want a B550 board with a decent selection of both ports and PCIe slots? This is the board for you. The only downside is the 2nd M2 slot will consume 2 of the SATA ports, but this is the problem of a B550 board in general, not this board in question! For CCL themselves, whom I bought this from: Speedy delivery, cheap prices, for sure a good retailer. You will not be disappointed with them, and if you are, their returns process is easy and good (unrelated returns to the product being reviewed!)

OK. There's not much that people find exciting about motherboards. However after spending too many years with an old mobo and processor, it was time to upgrade. Yes the processor has made my pc a lot snappier as has the ram., but what we're talking about here is the Phantom Gaming 4 motherboard. What a difference. The board temp never gets above 35c - My old board throttled my old processor a lot because the VRMs always got too hot too quickly. This one seems rock solid. It's got a PCIE 4.0 x16 slot with all 16 lanes enabled, a PCIE 3.0 x16 slot, with 4 lanes, and two PCIE 3.0 x1 slots. In the x16 slots, I have 2 gpus which are mostly used for the cuda cores in raytracing. Both the gtx 1660 and the gtx 1060 run much better than in my old board. I always felt that the 1060 was being bottlenecked, but with the PCIE 3 bandwidth. No more problems! The SATA ports are mounted at the edge of the board so that the cables run out flat rather than vertically. Although this might seem like a negative as it's a bit fiddlier pluggin and unplugging, for those of you that tinker a lot, this is much better as you're less likely to move one now. There are some handy LEDs that indicate if there's a problem with the RAM,CPU,Storage or GPU. A great help if your PC isnt booting. The BIOS is very configurable. In fact, for you overclockers out there, you can use the included Phantom Gaming Tuning software to overclock withing Windows. How easy is that? I have to say tho, the manual is a bit short on details for all the settings. Overall, I'm very glad I bought this board. If you're looking for a straightforward motherboard for a Ryzen processor and don't want to splash out on an x570, this will do the job perfectly. Well done ASRock!
