ASUS AM4 socket motherboards ready to take on the brand new AMD Ryzen CPUs.

ASUS have brought four diverse new AM4 motherboards to the table that support the new RYZEN CPUs, and we’re here to give you the lowdown.

                                                                                          

Leading the fleet is the ASUS X370 Republic of Gamers CROSSHAIR VI Hero, targeted at hardcore gamers who want the very best of overclocking. Featuring a 12 phase VRM (Voltage Regulator Module), 6 PCIe slots, 8 SATA ports, on-board overclocking buttons and a whole host of USB ports, this high-end motherboard is certainly not lacking in its practicality. With large, sophisticated heatsinks that sport AURA RGB LED and a liquid-filled heat pipe, the board looks good on top of being super-functional.

Coming in next, the Prime X370 PRO, is also targeted at enthusiasts. Like the CROSSHAIR Hero VI, it still supports SLI and Crossfire and keeps more SATA and USB ports than the B350 boards. One thing the Prime X370 PRO does have which the Hero VI doesn’t, however, is a DisplayPort and an HDMI port, which make it a better option if you plan to use one of AMD’s next-gen APUs.

The PRIME PLUS is the top dog of ASUS’ B350 chipset boards. For people who want to switch to RYZEN, the PRIME PLUS is a very capable card that represents great value for money for those who aren’t interested in using SLI going forward. The PRIME-A is a microATX (mAXT) board, making it perfect for a smaller build, and it still has plenty going on, with 6 SATA ports, 3 PCIe slots, dual USB 3.1 ports and 4 DIMM slots supporting up to 64GB of memory.

As if there weren’t enough perks, AMD RYZEN CPUs all come unlocked and you can overclock them even on the B350 chipset motherboards.
